Abstract / Summary: | A visual commentary regarding the origin of life and the supposition that all living organisms share the same genetic source. This thesis is recognised as a rudimentary understanding of the process of abiogenesis-the moment over 4 billion years ago during the Archaic Period on Earth, when organic molecules and subsequent simple life forms first originated from inorganic and inanimate substances. Astro-Biologists refer to all life on Earth as 'Number One Life', presupposing that elsewhere in the universe, Numbers Two & upwards bear no genetic relation to each other. The image is deliberately provocative by depicting a chimeric form containing a human torso, thus challenging those fundamentalist religious groups that believe the concept of evolution as blasphemy! |
