The issue of the journal ‘Praesens’ in which this article was published was themed, ‘In focus: Gender Embodied’. The article reviewed the Budapest Autumn Festival’s Public Art Symposium and the Festival exhibition, ‘Moscow Square/Gravitation’, and was informed by Bodor’s research into Public Art in 2003. It was published in print in Hungarian, English and German. Bodor then presented some of the issues that she had raised in the article at a two-day international symposium, ‘Art: What Is It Good For?’ curated by Tracey Warr and Roddy Hunter, Dartington College of Arts, May 2004. The article also led to a commissioned catalogue essay, ‘Idôjárôr. A népi hallgató’/‘Time Patrol. The Populist Listener’, for the exhibition ‘Moscow Square/Gravitation’, organised by Ludwig Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art Budapest (16 May – 29 June 2003). The exhibition comprised international commissioned art works (Carey Young; Bik Van Der Pol; San Keller and many more) for Moscow Square in Budapest. Bodor’s catalogue text was co-authored with Beà Hock and published in both Hungarian and English.
