Abstract / Summary
Building upon recent research into the impact of teaching Philosophy to young children through the medium of picture books and narratives , this presentation identifies a range of books from the 1960s to the present day in which challenging themes including feminist perspectives , domestic abuse ,death and other themes are explored. Censorship of books is also touched upon and the ethics of exposing children to such material.
